The Swimming Pool Scene in \"This Is Us\": Get to Know Petroleum Club Long Beach

Por Patricia Landim

One of the sweetest memories of the Pearson family is when they all go to a public club. In episode 4 (season 1), Rebecca and Jack take the kids for a day out with naps, ice cream, lessons, and challenges.

Some crises arise around them while they are at this place. Kate is rejected by a group of girls because of her weight. Randall doesn't feel safe in the pool, despite Jack's efforts to help him. Meanwhile, Kevin feels neglected by his father. On top of all this, Rebecca struggles with motherhood as a woman gives unsolicited advice about Randall's care.

About the filming

It all took place at the Petroleum Club pool, a private club located at 3636 Linden Avenue, on the northwest side of Long Beach, California. The club was founded in 1953 to serve the local oil community. It is located atop the Long Beach oil field and offers panoramic views of the city and the Pacific Ocean.

The club has facilities for events, such as private dining rooms, meeting rooms, and ballrooms, which can be rented for weddings, receptions, banquets, and other special occasions. Additionally, the club has a full-service restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner and offers a variety of classic dishes, such as steaks, seafood, and salads.

The Petroleum Club is known for its elegant and traditional atmosphere, which reflects the history and culture of Long Beach's oil industry. As a private club, members have access to a variety of exclusive benefits, including social events, recreational activities, and concierge services.

Although the club was founded to serve the oil community, it is now open to members from other industries and sectors of the local community. The Petroleum Club remains a popular venue for prestigious events and an important institution in Long Beach's history and culture.
